Happy Friday to all! Today, we feature another outstanding PPS Employee. Meet Alex Garcia from the PPS product testing department.
In a few sentences, tell me a little bit about yourself.
I like to have fun, and I like to laugh. Aside from water, food, and oxygen, I can’t really ask for much more than that at the end of the day.
What roles have you been in, and what is your current role today?
I started as a parts runner. I was in skid assembly for a little over a year, with a little bit of fabrication along with that. Then, I was in standard production for about a year and started testing the Nova/Atlas series. Then, I started testing panels. Now, I’ve been testing a lot for about four years and have started doing schematics/configs along with all the testing.
What is your favorite thing about working for PPS?
The amount of stuff to be able to learn. Something so niche has so much depth and work involved with so many intricacies. Constant learning and improvement.
What are your hobbies/interests – what do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a huge geek. I love Anime, playing video games, listening to MOST all kinds of music. If I didn’t have kids, I’d probably still be addicted to World of Warcraft.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?
Bull$h!t Man, I want to be able to call out any bull$h!t I hear. For example, when Congress is talking more crazy stuff, I could just barge in and be like, “BULL$H!T.” They would see me, and they would know that they got got.
What’s the best advice you could give to a new hire in the company?
If you aren’t sure, ask. Embrace your mistakes. Keep on keeping on.
What is your favorite saying or quote?
“Alright, I’ve been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade – make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don’t want your damn lemons. What am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life’s manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I’m the man who’s gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I’m going to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!” – Cave Johnson
What is your number one bucket list item?
Fill my kids’ bucket. They are the future.
