It’s Friday, so it’s time to highlight another one of our outstanding PPS employees! This week’s employee spotlight features Cole Chapman, Inventory Control Lead for the PPS Control Panel Shop.
In a few sentences, tell me a little bit about yourself.
I am a Boise native and attended the University of Idaho for Natural Resource Conservation Planning and Management. After working with Idaho Fish and Game for a couple of years, I discovered there weren’t many full-time jobs in that field, so I ended up working in mortgage for 7 years. I recently switched it up and joined the PPS team in the manufacturing industry.
What roles have you been in, and what is your current role today?
Initially, I was going to be hired to a hybrid position with inventory and purchasing, but that turned into a full-time inventory position. I am currently the Inventory Control Lead for the Panel Shop and have enjoyed the learning process and getting acquainted with all that we do.
What is your favorite thing about working for PPS?
I love how everyone is willing to help others with questions or explain processes to better help understand why and what we do.
What are your hobbies/interests – what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy dirt biking, golfing, and snowboarding, as well as hanging out at home with the dogs and occasionally leaving the house for trivia or meeting up with friends.
If you could choose one superpower, what would it be?
Teleportation – oh the possibilities!
What’s the best advice you could give to a new hire in the company?
ASK QUESTIONS, often and always. Everyone is a great resource for information and the more questions asked the more you will retain (in time). It is a little daunting at first, but things start clicking quickly when asking questions.
What is your number one bucket list item?
Go for a 4-day guided dirt bike adventure at Gold Creek Lodge with the boys.
