As progress and suburban development continue to threaten landmark attractions across the USA, PPS is proud to partner with Mike Shamia, Steve Walkenbach, Irrigation Consultant, Les Hill, and Course Architect, Art Schaupeter to help preserve, restore and revitalize a St.Louis. MO tradition, the Tower Tee Golf and Recreation Complex.
In 1963, Roy Lotz founded the historic Tower Tee driving range located on Heege Road in St. Louis, MO. In its heyday, Tower Tee was a popular destination for golfers and active families alike with its spacious driving range, big league batting cages and mini golf course. The rave reviews and regional reputation of Tower Tee even drew major celebrities such as Bob Hope, Bob Costas and Joe Buck to the area.
But after three generations and over a half century of successful operation, progress and suburban development threatened the demise of Tower Tee Driving Range in order to make way for a new housing development in 2018. Nearby residents were not happy with the change and rallied together to preserve the historic attraction, protesting with a “Save Tower Tee” movement. Mike Shamia and Steve Walkenbach stepped in to oppose the housing development and purchased the property. Their vision? To preserve and restore the legendary Tower Tee for the benefit of the entire community!
Much like the original Tower Tee, the new one will have a driving range, batting cages and mini golf. And a whole lot more!
The new Tower Tee Golf and Recreation Complex features :
